Well, after almost 7 years running with Sheffield Running Club, a change was in order. After being unable to make most of the training sessions for most of 2024, I’ve decided to change my first claim to Rotherham Running Club. Their training locations are closer to where I live, and start slightly later, so it’s […]

Training Runs
This was my 2nd race following the resumption of training, and the first time I’ve competed in the YVAA Road Relays. This was a 3 x 3 mile relay event, held in Holmfirth. The area was absolutely stunning, with the race starting from the cricket ground, and the running out onto Cartworth Moor Road, roughly […]
The start of 2023 was spent cross training and recovering from the repeat of my ankle injury that initially flared up in 2021. After completing Percy Pud at the start of December 2022, my right ankle completely seized up, leaving me unable to run and causing a lot of pain even while walking. The first […]
Following on from my initial post in December, it’s been a long 6 months, with varying degrees of success in getting back on track. At the start of the year, I continued with 2 physio session a month, having a few different techniques done (sports massage, dry needling, stretching and mobility exercises), and worked on […]
Well it had to happen at some point! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been struggling with a pain in my left knee. This usually flared up after a hard race (Conwy Half caused quite a lot of pain following the race), and after Doncaster 10K, it really started to hurt. I took it easy […]
So 2019 has been a very good year for me in terms of running achievements. Closing out the year with PB’s in all 4 of the distances I’ve raced in (and finally ending the PB dry spell in the 10K, which stood since 2015!) This has given me a very good starting point for my […]
Well, after mentioning going out for a run today here: https://goand.run/calf-injury/ I ventured out. Weather was terrible, but it was great to be out and on my feet again. Took it nice and slow (6m/km) and no issues with any pain in my calf. It still felt a little sore, but was certainly manageable. Went out […]
Well, it’s been a while since I posted on here. Training and racing was going really well, until I tried to change my trainers again. I purchased a brand new pair of On Cloudflyer, because they had an increased amount of rubber on the outside edge of the “clouds” on the sole. Now, initial fit […]
So this was the first training run of 2018, and the start of my training plan for the 2018 Sheffield Half Marathon in April.
Set off feeling pretty good, even though I was in my battered Scott Race Rockets. Felt it past the 10KM mark, as I’ve certainly lost the endurance part of my fitness since training for the half marathon back in April. Still, best 12KM time on this route 🙂
